Please support the only Nevada Team to qualify for the FTC World Robotics Championship!

We are excited to announce that on March 22nd,2014, FTC Team 6024, The Enterprisers – The Next Generation of Engineers, from Reno became the only Nevada team to advance to the FTC World Championship in St. Louis, MO by being a part of a three team winning alliance in the West Super-Regional Championship held in Sacramento, CA (72 teams from 12 western states and Alaska competed in the FTC West Super-Regional).   The Enterprisers earned their place at the Super-Regional by first competing in tournaments in Flagstaff, AZ, San Diego, CA, Folsom, CA, Las Vegas, NV and Newark, CA. The Enterprisers are a community-based team of high school students interested in Science and Technology that depends solely on community sponsors and parent donations. The team is seeking financial support to attend the FTC World Championship representing Nevada as they are the only team that qualified from our State.

What is FTC?
FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Tech Challenge (“FTC”) is a robotics competition for high school students based on a sports model. Teams are responsible for designing, building and programming their robots to perform FTC specified functions and compete as alliances against other teams.  Teams advance from local qualifying tournaments to state championship tournaments, then to super-regionals before advancing to the World Championship Tournament, held each year in St. Louis, MO. Some of the FIRST® founding sponsors include GM, Motorola, Xerox. Strategic sponsors include Google, Boeing, Rockwell Collins, FedEx, 3M, to name a few.

What is the FTC World Championship?
The 2013-2014 FTC World Championship is April 23-26, 2014, at the Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, MO.  128 FTC teams advance from Super-Regional Championships (North, East, South, and West US regions) and International Tournaments to the World Championship and compete for the top spots in FTC. There are approximately 1,280 students competing from Grades 7-12, and 17 countries are represented: Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, India, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and the United States. It is truly an honor and privilege to make it to the FTC World Championship and represent Nevada.

THE TIME IS NOW
Because the World Championship is less than a month away, we must act quickly to raise funds for the Nevada team to attend this event!  As described, the team has been mostly self-supported to this point.  However, the costs to attend the World Championship are large due to its location and level of competition.  Without community support, Nevada may not be represented at this event. May we count on you for a donation? The estimated costs of attendance to the 2014 FIRST World Robotics Championship for Nevada’s team is approximately $10,000 (costs include team registration, transportation and lodging, robot parts, etc. Please consider being part of this exciting endeavor. We would be happy to meet with you to provide detailed information about the team, demo the robot (The Enterprise) and the key role that you could play. We invite you to visit our  YouTube Channel to learn more about us and see the robot in action!  Sponsors names will be listed on our website, in all media, and in print materials.  Every donation is important and the need is great. You can donate easily with PayPal on our website, go to  the top of this page and click on the DONATE button. You can make checks payable to “FTC Team 6024 DBA The Enterprisers” and send them directly to Heritage Bank, Damonte Branch, 47 Damonte Ranch Parkway, Reno, NV 89521 775-852-2755.
